Students in grades 5-8 are invited to attend any of several upcoming Friday Recreation Nights at the high school's new gymnasium (facing Sacandaga Elementary).

The first night held on Jan. 8, which featured games of dodgeball and bombardment, drew 250 students in grades 5 and 6 and 55 students in grades 7 and 8.

For all of the recreation nights, students in grades 5 and 6 attend from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and students in grades 7 and 8 attend from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Here is the flyer sent home to parents about the program (in PDF). There will be permission slips available at the future nights. If you child did not return the slip to his or her physical education teacher, they may simply complete a form that evening that must be signed by the parent.

Students should dress in physical education attire, i.e. sneakers, loose comfortable clothing, and no jewelry or gum.

Parent chaperones are always needed and welcomed.

Friday, January 22 - 4 Square Tournament
Friday, February 5 - Volleyball
Friday, March 5 - Basketball
Friday, April 16 - Game Night – (Dance, Dance, Revolution, 4 Square & Wiffle ball)
Friday, May 14 - Arena Football
Friday, June 11 - End of the Year Bash Dodge ball Tournament (No eye glasses)

NOTE TO PARENTS: Students must be picked up as a soon as your child’s session has ended. Chaperones needed. There will be no nurse available, so if your child has medical concerns the parent is asked to stay with the child.

This activity is made available to the students in conjunction with the Carol M. White federal PEP grant awarded to the physical education department.
