The PTA Council held the 70th annual
Founders Day dinner at the the River Stone Manor in Glenville on Tuesday,
Feb. 2.
The following school community supporters were honored by each school's
PTA and received a lifetime PTA membership award. The annual “Founders'
Day” dinner is an opportunity for the PTAs and PTA Council to honor
and celebrate individuals who have made a positive difference in the lives
of the children and young people Scotia-Glenville.
The High School Chamber Orchestra
under the direction of Cheryl Ferraro provided entertainment.
The recipients this year were:
- Glendaal Elementary
PTA: Heather
and Wayne Peterson, parents;
Linda Kalasinski, parent;
and Lysle Perry, grade
3 teacher
- Glen-Worden Elementary
PTA: Pat Zeman,
parent, and Liz Ryan,
library media specialist;
- Lincoln Elementary
PTA: Christine Caffrey,
speech pathologist, and Sara Park,
parent;
- Sacandaga Elementary
PTA: Michelle Budka,
parent, and Jennifer Celorio,
teacher aide
- Middle School PTA:
Danielle Sawyer, parent,
and Brenda Coelho, teacher
of students with special needs
- High School PTSA:
Stephani Dimopoulos DiCocco,
art teacher; Jane Conroy,
GIVE volunteer; and Colleen Stevens,
Nordic ski team coach
