PTA Council Meeting Minutes

September 29, 2009

 

Attendance: Sue Caldwell, Denise Rudolph, Lisa Dangerfield, Jennifer Prusinowski, Colleen Benedetto, Sarah Hoffmann, Melissa Ellwanger, Denise Fraioli, Peggy Smith, Belinda Fitzgerald, Jim Dunham, Gregg Zeman, Sharon Sharrow, Cathy Conroy

 

Call to order-

SecretaryÕs Report Ð minutes from May 6, 2009 presented and approved by unanimous vote.

 

TreasurerÕs Report Ð Position is VACANT and needs to be filled ASAP. Please contact any Council member if interested. The budget for 2009-2010 is complete and will be emailed out within the next few days.

 

New Business Ð Council is going to contribute $300.00 toward the anti-bullying program being presented at the MS on October 30. Council feels this is a very worthwhile program and is open to all age groups and parents.

 

FounderÕs Day reservation packets were handed out to a representative from each school and the DO. Please be sure to note the change of venue when advertising the dinner. This yearÕs dinner will be held at the Riverstone Manor on Rte. 5.

 

BOE Report Ð the district tour went well. Budget planning will begin earlier this year. Replacement for Joe Kavanaugh will most likely be in place by November.

 

Superintendent Report Ð the district ELA adaptation has begun. OPAL is looking for parent members, contact your schools OPAL representative. There will be n architect presentation during the October 5 Board of Ed meeting.

 

School Reports Ð all schools report no problems with Òback to schoolÓ programs. Glen-Worden, Lincoln, Sacandaga, MS all report that their audit is complete and budget is in place.

 

The High School is sponsoring a Digital Footprint seminar on November 16 at 7:00pm. A flyer will be forwarded to all PrincipalÕs, PTA Presidents and council repÕs. Please forward on as you see fit.

 

SGTA Ð a social committee is being formed to come up with ideas to replace the lasagna dinner fund raiser. The staff is also looking to start team building activities.
