The four elementary schools will combined their grades 4 and 5 Field Days this year into one large event at the high school. The events will tentatively be held from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 31 (the rain date is Friday, June 1).
Elementary Physical Education Coordinator and Glendaal Principal Thomas Eagan said many details must still be worked out but that he expected that activities like field events, track events, team events, novelty events, awards, arranging for lunches and other activities that are now included in the school-based field days.
Glen-Worden Physical Education Teacher Dirk Francois will coordinate the event.
"This is a big undertaking but the department feels they will make this a great event for all involved," said Eagan.
The grades K-3 field days will still be held at the individual schools. If there are changes to those, that information will be posted on the website.
Students at Lincoln and Sacandaga will walk to the high school that day; Glendaal and Glen-Worden students will be bused to the field days.
